Rohit DixitFounder and Executive President
Hi. My name is Rohit (pronounced "ROW" "HIT" or think of rowing a boat and then hitting a ball). I like long walks on the beach and the music of Justin Timberlake. I grew up in Baltimore but went to school in New York at Columbia University. Now that I'm back in the DC/Baltimore metro area, it's hard to imagine a better part of the country.
I sincerely hope Be The Change in DC can make more people aware of the homeless plight and perhaps even inspire those who have lost hope that even one person can really make a difference, but only if he/she tries. I believe that every homeless person in D.C. (and in other cities) who wants to be helped deserves a second chance, and I hope that one day, if we all work together, BTCDC can help provide that second chance. Please join our cause however you can -- whether it's time as a volunteer or a donation, small or large, you CAN make a difference through Be The Change in DC! -
Idi OhikhuareFinance Coordinator
My name is Idi Ohikhuare. Good luck pronouncing my last name. I am a DC area financial planner and in my free time I have strong interest in charitable activities. I have done Children's Hospital, Boys & Girl's Club, Kiwanis Club and several others in the past, but Be The Change has been unique as an opportunity to build and grow with and organization from day one.

Paige AdamsSecretary
I’m Paige. After two years in DC, I finally feel like I know the place and joining BTCDC is one of the reasons. Prior to DC, I worked in Dallas at a nonprofit that focused on raising awareness of international issues in the community. My current job is director of development at a national nonprofit that advocates for increased inclusion of women-owned businesses in the corporate supply chain. BTCDC is the first nonprofit where I’ve had the opportunity to truly help people in a tangible way, and it’s a great feeling. Not to mention the BTCDC group is an eclectic bunch that makes every outing a memorable experience. -
Donald K. ShermanFundraising Coordinator
Hi. My name is Donald. I was born in Harlem, raised in Queens, NY and have lived in the District for the last 8 years. I attended Georgetown for both college and law school and am currently an Associate at the law firm of Crowell & Moring, LLP. Since college, I have tried to stay active in local issues including homelessness, juvenile justice and the District's lack of voting representation in Congress. I became involved with Be the Change in DC because both Idi and Rohit were so passionate about this cause and I knew that together our board and our membership could develop creative ways to fight homelessness in this city. The District of Columbia is full of highly motivated and thoughtful young adults. Our combined efforts can truly help change the lives of many of our fellow District residents! -
Thomas Benjamin AndersonEducation Coordinator
Raised in Metropolitan DC, I have seen the issues of homelessness in and around the city my whole life. After 14 years of going to high school near the city, going to college in the city, and living in the city it is evident that we as a community have yet to find a solution to this pressing problem. However, I believe that we as young people can truly make a lasting impact on the future of countless people in our community with time, effort, enthusiam, and commitment.
